BIRD CAGE TIPS

When selecting a bird cage litter to use remember that your bird’s droppings can be an indicator of illness and health problems and should be examined daily when you change the bird cage litter. By choosing a bird cage litter that doesn’t ‘hide’ the bird’s droppings you can examine the consistency, color and volume to determine if your bird’s health is okay. Damp, highly soiled bedding poses a health risk to your bird so the bedding material must be cleaned at least weekly, but more often is better.
